Itinerary

Day 1In-Depth City Tour with Local Expert in Fez

Upon your arrival, you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your riad in Fez. Start exploring the city with a local guide. Fez, established as a cultural and administrative hub in the 12th century, is home to the largest medina in the Arab world. Visit historical landmarks such as the Karaouine University, the oldest in the world, mosques, bustling squares, and traditional potter workshops. Explore the Andalusian influence in the architecture and enjoy the craftsmanship of the artisans. End the day at your riad in Fez, the handicraft capital of Morocco.

 

Day 2Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Camel Ride - Overnight in the Camp

After breakfast, travel to the Middle Atlas, stopping in Ifrane, known as “Morocco’s Switzerland,” and Azrou, home to the famous cedar forest where you may spot Barbary apes. Continue southward to Midelt for lunch, and then head to Erfoud, known for its fossils. Finally, reach Merzouga and enjoy an evening camel ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes. Afterward, settle into a desert camp for dinner and an unforgettable night beneath the stars.

 

Day 3: Erg Chebbi Merzouga

Explore the vastness of the Erg Chebbi dunes today. Visit the Camria village and nearby nomadic settlements to learn about the local way of life. Take a camel ride deeper into the desert and enjoy the serenity of the dunes. Spend the night camping in a Berber tent, surrounded by the majestic desert landscape.

 

Day 4: Rissani - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley - Ouarzazate

Start the day with a visit to Rissani, a historical caravanserai and market town. Continue through the oasis of Tinghir, one of Morocco’s most scenic spots, to the Todra Gorge. After a stop for lunch, journey toward Ouarzazate, passing through the Dades Valley, also known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. In Ouarzazate, visit the famous Taourirt Kasbah. Enjoy dinner and overnight at a local hotel.

 

Day 5: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

After breakfast, head to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a popular location for film shoots such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Explore the kasbah before continuing your journey through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, the highest mountain pass in Morocco, as you travel towards Marrakech. Check into your riad for the night.

 

Day 6: Free Day to Explore Marrakech with a Guide

Spend the day discovering Marrakech, also known as the “Red City” for its distinct terracotta-colored walls. Visit key landmarks like the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, Majorelle Gardens, and the Saadian Tombs. Explore the vibrant souks, and don’t miss Jamaa el Fna square, a bustling hub filled with storytellers, performers, and market vendors. Return to your riad for the night.

 

Day 7: Marrakech - Airport
