Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Boumalne Dades

Your journey begins with a scenic drive through the majestic Atlas Mountains, offering panoramic views of rugged landscapes and traditional Berber villages. The first stop will be the iconic Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its remarkable architecture and history. This ancient fortified village has served as a backdrop for numerous cinematic productions. After exploring the kasbah, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the ‘Gateway to the Sahara’ and home to the famous Atlas Film Studios. You’ll also pass through the beautiful Roses Village, known for its fragrant rose fields and the annual Rose Festival. The day ends in Boumalne Dades, where you’ll marvel at the stunning Dades Gorges, shaped over millennia by the Dades River.

 

Day 2Tinghir - Todgha Gorges - Desert Erg Chebbi

After breakfast, you’ll head to Tinghir, a town famous for its oasis and Berber culture. Your first stop will be the stunning Todra Gorge, where you can take a walk and enjoy the impressive canyon walls. From there, continue your journey into the vast expanse of the Sahara Desert, where you’ll ride camels across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets, you’ll be treated to a magical display of nomadic music and dance around a campfire, followed by a night spent in a luxurious desert camp under the stars.

 

Day 3: Discover The Nomads Tribes - Khamlia Village - Jeep Tour

In the morning, take a Jeep tour to explore the nomadic tribes of the desert, where you’ll learn about their traditional lifestyle. Then, visit Khamlia, a village known for its unique Gnaoua music, a vibrant and trance-inducing musical tradition with roots in Sub-Saharan Africa. You’ll have the chance to interact with the local musicians and enjoy live performances. Afterward, you’ll visit artisans creating traditional Moroccan crafts like pottery and textiles. Explore the natural beauty surrounding the village, including olive groves and argan forests.

 

Day 4: Rissani - Agdez

Depart from Café Du Sud Camp in Merzouga and head to Rissani, where you can explore the lively souk and visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, the founder of the Alaouite dynasty. Continue your journey through the desert and palm groves towards Agdz, passing through the town of Alnif. The scenic drive offers views of the Draa Valley. You’ll arrive in Agdz in the late afternoon for a peaceful overnight stay in traditional accommodations.

 

Day 5: Ounila Valley - Kasbah Telouate - Marrakech

On the final day, travel through the beautiful Ounila Valley, known for its picturesque Berber villages and dramatic landscapes, toward Kasbah Telouet. This kasbah was once home to the powerful El Glaoui family, and its intricate architecture and history make it a must-see. After visiting the kasbah, continue your journey toward Marrakech, crossing the winding roads of the Tizi n’Tichka Pass with its breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains.
